I got a pound of beef liver at the grocery store and simply cut it up and baked it into these bite sized treats!
Ingredients:
1 lb of beef liver
Preheat oven to 450. Line a baking sheet with tin foil (you'll thank me later) and light a few incense sticks or fragrant candles (your family will thank me later). Slice the beef liver into pieces. You can make them small or larger, your choice, because if you do slice them larger, they simply snap in pieces after they're cooked.
Lay the sliced beef pieces on the foil lined baking sheet in a single layer. Place in oven for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes cooking, turn the oven off but leave the liver in the oven until they COMPLETELY cool off. They are still drying in that oven's heat, so this is important you leave them in.
Once they're cooled, remove them and pluck them off of the foil and snap into the sizes you want. Store them in the fridge. They will be good for about a week, freeze any that you won't use in a week, and your treats will last a while!
Note: These smell when you cook them. I don't like liver at all so the smell to me was not appealing in the slightest, the candles I used helped a bit and I do believe this cooking method was less smelly than anything I'd have encountered via the dehydrator. I'm going to save the dehydrator for the sweet potato chews.
