Ingredients:
1 cup of cooked and pureed yellow squash (1 squash is a $1, but this was 1/2 of one)
2 14oz cans of Pink Salmon (one full can of the juice, the other can drain a little out or your food will be watery) (each can was $2 at Wal Mart)
2 cups of cooked egg noodles (1 bag was 99 cents, 2 cups is maybe 1/4 of the bag)
vitamin powder supplement
Boil some water and cook your egg noodles. Meanwhile, remove the salmon from the cans. I used the fish oil/water from one can, and the other I drained a little bit out. You will notice the fish looks whole, just mush it up with a fork until it looks like tuna fish consistency. Mix the bones and all the oils/juices. The beauty of using canned whole fish like this is that you do not have to add calcium to the meal because the bone provides much needed calcium. Once the fish is mushed up, add the cooked egg noodles and mix again. Once that is combined, add your vitamin supplement (if you use one), and then add the yellow squash. I happened to cook a whole one previously and I halved the recipe and froze the second serving in a baggie, so I just defrosted it and added it in. I combined all of the ingredients and served. As you can see, Marvin was very happy!
If you don't want to use egg noodles, use regular pasta or rice or even potatoes. Your choice and depending on what your dog can tolerate. Some dogs have allergies and can't eat certain things, so the other great thing about these recipes is you can modify all of the ingredients.
