This recipe consists of:
1.5lbs of ground beef
2 cups of shredded raw carrot (you can use whatever veg you'd like, or a mixture of a few)
1 cup of bread crumbs
1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
1 egg
2tbs parsley
1 tbs of ground eggshell
1.5 cups of cooked mashed potato (I made mine from real potatoes)
1/4 cup of shredded cheese of your choice (I used cottage cheese)
First I made the potatoes, I made fresh mashed potatoes out of white potatoes. I added no ingredients to them. Once the potatoes were cooked, I mashed them with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Set aside.
Combine the meat, carrots, bread crumbs, parsley, egg, and sunflower seeds, as well as the ground eggshell, in a large bowl until well mixed. Form into about 1/2 cup sized balls.
Line a muffin tin with paper cups and fill with the beef mixture. I pressed it into the paper cups and then formed a bit of a bowl dip on top so that the potatoes would sit on top. Once all muffin cups are filled, put about 1.5 tbs of potato mixture on top of each meat cup.
Bake at 375 for about 20-25 minutes or until meat is cooked. Let cook and serve.
I am going to freeze 1/2 of these. Depending on the size of your pup, you may have to feed more than one per meal. My 15lb dogs only eat 1/2 cup of food at each meal, so these servings are made for dogs that size and energy level (low).
